Challenge:
The author had no existing online presence, making it difficult for readers, media, and event organisers to find information about her work, achievements, or new book. This limited visibility also affected perceived credibility at a point where discoverability and trust were essential for book promotion and professional opportunities.
Solution:
I created a clear, accessible online presence designed to showcase the author’s work and support discoverability.
- Built a website to present the author’s publications, biography and professional achievements in a clear, structured way
- Wrote and structured content to communicate credibility while remaining accessible to a broad audience.
- Applied SEO best practices across the site to improve search visibility for the author and her book allowing search on Google to bring up results.
- Implemented accessibility best practices across the site, including clear content hierarchy, readable typography and accessible navigation.
The focus was on clarity, ease of navigation, and making key information easy to find for different audiences, including readers, journalists, and event organisers.
Results:
- Enabled the author and her new book to be easily found online through search.
- Established a credible digital presence that supported book promotion.
- Contributed to increased book sales and new professional opportunities, including keynote speaking invitations and interviews across podcasts, radio, and television.

I created this authors website to be warm and inviting, clearly showing who the author is and displaying her new book with prominence. Purchase of the book is made with stockists and direct links on the ‘home’ page and ‘book’ page.

I designed this website to be responsive across as many device sizes as possible.

The author did not have any branding so I created a personal brand signature to use across various media, such as the digital business card which I also created.

As I built the website I used accessibility best practices to ensure usability for all and increase visibility in online searches.
Final Thoughts:
This project for me, reinforced the importance of accessibility and search visibility as core components of effective content design. It strengthened my approach to building content-led websites that are inclusive, discoverable and aligned with real-world outcomes.
